This was my first block so I did not know how to handle it at all. Writing things is usually something that just flows through me and the always smooth flow was not so smooth. My block took about three weeks, it definitely felt longer. People have had longer writing blocks but I hope this will be helpful to someone.

Before I talk about how I got out of my block let me tell all of you how to get into one.

1. Allow your work to pile up.

This is super basic and simple. Having alot of work to do is disturbing and generally overwhelming. If you like order like me this will definitely take you to a block! Avoid allowing your work to pile up and I don't just mean the writing type of work. Whatever you have to do, do it in good time.

2. Set unrealistic deadlines.

Give yourself as much time as possible to write. Deadlines are usually helpful, this is actually advice, give yourself deadlines for everything. Just always be realistic. Remember it's not a race. Writing requires time.

Again I hope this is helpful, now let's get into the main article.

How to get out of a blog.

1. Figure out your 'creative process'.

Youve probably hear'd of the 'creative process' different people have different ones. This is usually a routine that gets you inspired and ready to write, sing, basically just create. Make it as simple as possible. Mine is really short. First I listen to some music, this is very relaxing. Secondly I'll talk to some people, this always gets me brainstorming cause people are always doing and saying things. Things worth writing about. Lastly, I pray and finally I start to write. This is my first creative process so I made it very simple.

2. Free write.

This means write anything. Avoid writing about topics that require Alot of research. Remember, the goal is to just get you writing again.

3. You might need a break.

Stop trying to write for a while. Depending on how often you write, your break can be a few days, a week or two, a month even. One of my friends told me to just stop trying and it would naturally come back. It did!

4. Read.

I can not over emphasis this. Read! Try a different genre. If you write alot, reading usually gives your brain dejavu and before you know it, you start brain storming. If you usually write about a certain topic be sure to read outside that, why? Because we're trying to relax and not force inspiration. Let me also take this opportunity to suggest a read for you. Be sure to read the book of Hebrews, it will definitely enrich you.

5.Drink water

Stay hydrated no matter what. Actually stay hydrating. Water is good for your nerves. It is essential for all the body processes including thinking and planning. Maybe you're just thirsty......

That's how i got out of my block. How did you get out of yours? Thankyou for reading. Do share this article if it was helpful.
